INTERNATIONAL MENDELSSOHN FESTIVAL
A. C. conductor, Hamburg Mendelssohn Festival (Germany)
“Germany was a blast and I learned a lot. It was an intense week of conducting 8 different pieces (6 concerti were added in the few weeks leading up to the workshop). There were 8 student conductors, I was the only American. The teacher, Ulrich Windfuhr, is a very important connection in Germany since he is on the panel of the Dirigent Forum, a program designed to launch European careers. I also made many important connections both with conductors and instrumentalists. I continued my close friendship with Yaniv Attar, who you supported in the past. Thank you all so much for your support, without which I would not have been able to attend the Mendelssohn Festival in Hamburg. I performed in concert at the St. Johannis Harvestehude church in Hamburg the first movement of the Ninth Symphony of Schubert, a wonderful selection to show many different conducting styles. The Hamburg Symphony played wonderfully, and a video was made which will be extremely useful for all of my future job and workshop applications. It really represents the most polished video I have to date, and will be invaluable to me.” |
