“It has been an experience which I could never have dreamed of having without your generosity and support and I am endlessly grateful for the opportunity. For me, leaning French music in France has opened my eyes to the incredible possibilities of expression that come from really getting to know the culture of the composers. The chateau, the gardens, and incredible artwork were constant inspirations and I am so lucky to have formed close friendships with other artists and faculty, which I will never forget. I look forward to returning to France in the near future to again make music in this beautiful place. ” T.C., Fontainebleau (France) "The Ecoles d'arts américaines offer a very unique program and I feel privileged to have been able to participate in this year's edition of the festival. My experience was enriching in numerous ways. During my four weeks here, I had the chance to work with renowned artists such as Philippe Mueller, Gary Hoffman, and members of The Ebene Quartet. The festivals focus on music by Maurice Ravel has reinvigorated my passion for the music of this composer and French music in general. Being able to work and play in concert in the Chateau Fontainebleau, a place with such an impressive history, was a one of kind experience. I wouldn't have been able to participate in the festival without the help of the Williamson Foundation, and for this I am very grateful." |
